About Us

Scene Ideas was officially born in 2004 as the necessary solution to meet growing needs of the local event industry.  The three managing partners have been engaged in producing scenery and staging for theatre, festivals, activations and tours since 1996.  Their combined experience, expertise and network of relationships enables Scene Ideas to see the big picture and work towards an integrated solution.  These varied and extensive backgrounds provide in-depth, first-hand experience of scenic carpentry and fabrication, project management, technical direction, stage management, design and more.  Their breadth of experience also enables their team to seamlessly integrate multiple departments and interests.  With this in mind, Scene Ideas is consistently able to provide effective solutions in collaboration with other service providers.

The “hands on” management style of Scene Ideas is one of the basic elements that ensures attention to detail throughout design and execution.  Projects are managed directly by the owners who collaborate on all phases.  Each partner excels in their specializations and relies on the input of the others.  With each phase of a project being scrutinized from a variety of different perspectives, potential issues can be identified and resolved before the work begins.

Employing a task-force of specialized and experienced tradespeople, technicians, artisans and designers, Scene Ideas maintains a 12,000 square foot facility, equipped to handle all aspects of fabrication from woodworking to welding, machining, scenic painting and sculpting.
